ok i haven't read a lot of comics, so my ratings dont really have much context
Story 3.5/5
I really enjoyed the story.
Felt like it was gearing up for something big and then like you said we got the bond villain monologue which i thought was a lil weak if not still enjoyable.
I obviously didn't get the Mysterio surprise as i didnt know the villain at all.
Makes sense to me it probably would have been written at the same time smith was making Dogma very catholic guilt.
I probably would have preferred if there was some kind of supernatural cause behind it rather then just the special effects dude.
Overall tho i did enjoy it
Artwork 4/5
I enjoyed the cartoonyness of it. I agree it prolly didnt suit the dark tone of the story but i think after just reading watchmen i enjoyed the bright colours!
agin i dont really have much to go off here as far as my rating goes.
Dialogue & Characterisation 3.5
again dont know characters that well. However felt daredevil was a well rounded character felt for him when Karen died. I sometimes found some of the explanatory dialog a bit out of place.
I'm not sure if we have to be reminded as often as we are that daredevil is blind and his other senses are heightened.
I felt main villain was a lil bit weak as in his reasons for picking daredevil etc. issue 7 was prolly the weakest because of it
11/15
(I reserve the right to change these ratings as i read more)

What do you mean by Dogma Catholic guilt in this Ted ?
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree on the re-explanation of the blindness and special enhanced senses in each issue, I get it, he is blind, he has special senses. The problem is I think they have to put this is in incase anyone that has never read the story or DD before knows how he got 'the powers'..... still annoying as shit though.
